To begin with, I would like to state that this article is not sponsored by anyone. I have purchased currency from this money changer myself, and found their service and presence in different cities in India to be really impressive. Based on my own personal knowledge and experience, I believe that this currency exchange service is the best in India.
The money changer I am referring to is Orient Exchange (https://www.orientexchange.in/). Orient Exchange is a multinational business group with a presence in the UAE, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and India.
At the time of writing or updating this article, Orient Exchange 22 branches in 21 different cities in India, and offered 31 currencies for exchange. The exchange offers both online and offline modes of buying and selling currencies.
In the online mode, a customer can place an order on their website, make online payment, upload required documents, and get the foreign currency delivered to their home or place of business.
I got my order delivered in less than 24 hours. But my address is a little outside the city. If you stay within the municipal limits of a serviced city, you will probably get your currency on the same day.
Better Than BookMyForex?
Orient Exchange is apparently better than BookMyForex. In my city, Orient had better exchange rates, and they agreed to deliver to my pin code where BookMyForex had refused to deliver.
Transparency
Both buy and sell live rates for different currencies are visible on the website of Orient Exchange, and one can easily compare those with the rates offered by any other money changer in India.
Documents Required
If you want to buy a foreign currency from Orient Exchange, you will have to provide copies of your passport, visa, air tickets, and your PAN card. The documents can be uploaded for online orders, and handed over personally if you are picking up your order from one of their branches.
Self Pick Up Possible
If you choose to pick up the currency yourself, you will save on the delivery charge. I paid INR 250 + GST for the delivery, and was still happy because personally going to their branch would have been more expensive for me.
List of Serviced Cities
These were the 21 serviced cities at the last update. The company website has addresses and phone numbers of the branches:
- Amritsar
- Chennai
- Delhi
- Bengaluru
- Hyderabad
- Kochi
- Ahmedabad
- Jalandhar
- Belgaum
- Calicut
- Kollam
- Mumbai
- Kolkata
- Kottayam
- Thrissur
- Mangalore
- Trivandrum
- Vadodara
- Chandigarh

Orient Exchange also operates through agents, but personally, I would rather order my requirement directly on their website.
I liked Orient Exchange, and I am sure you will like them too.
This is just the brief information. Do peruse the Orient Exchange website, where a lot more detail is available, including their customer care number. And for any other information or clarification, please write a comment below. I will respond as soon as possible.
