If you are visiting Chinatown, Singapore and want to exchange a currency at the best rate, this article can help. You will see the name, address, and the exact location of the money changer where you will get highly competitive rates at any given point of time.
Before proceeding, I wish to clarify that this article is not about the best money changer in Singapore, but about one of the best in Chinatown.
Crante Money Changer
In my experience, Crante Money Changer in People’s Park Complex, Chinatown (picture above), is the best in terms of exchange rates and trustworthiness.
The proof is right there. Whenever I walk past Crante, there is always a line of customers in front of it, while other money changers in the building seem empty.
I even compared Crante’s rates with those at Mustafa (Little India), and found Crante to be better.
Verify The Rates Yourself
One suggestion. Before finalizing your exchange, compare rates at other exchange shops within the complex to ensure that you get the best deal.
Minimum Order Value
At Crante, or any other money changer in People’s Park Complex, the best exchange rate is subject to a minimum order value. For example, if you want to buy Malaysian Ringgits at the best rate, you must exchange at least 300 Singapore dollars.

Crante opens every day from 9.00 AM to 9.00 PM, except on national holidays.

When you get to the entry to the mall shown in the picture above, don’t go inside. Instead, turn left on the outer corridor. You will reach Crante within a few meters.
How To Get To People’s Park Complex
To come to People’s Park Complex, come to Chinatown MRT Station first. Come out of the station using Exit C, and you will be right in front of the building.
