If you are planning to visit Thailand, and wondering whether you will need a visa or will get a visa free entry, this article will tell you where to look. There is an official Thai government website which will tell you whether you need a visa or not, and will even let you apply for a visa online, if you need one, provided you live in a country where online visa is available. Here it is:
Thai E-Visa Official Website
The Thailand e-visa official website not only lets you apply for a visa online, but tells you if you need a visa or can visit Thailand without a visa, for how many days, and what type of visa you should apply for, if you need one.
Online visa application is available for a select few countries, but the information is free and open to anyone who visits the website.
At the homepage, scroll down, and you will see a menu where you can select the name of your country, your current location, and the number of days you are planning to stay in Thailand. With that input, the website tells you whether you need a visa or not, if you can apply online, where you can submit a physical application, and for how many days you will be allowed to stay.
There is a separate tab for knowing what type of visa you have to apply for. This is the link to the website again: https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
Almost Reliable
This website displays correct information most of the time, but there are occasions when the info it shows is not current. This happens whenever there is a change in the Thai government visa policy, it takes a few days for them to update on the e-visa website. For that reason, you may have to double-check the info from another source.
Other than that one issue, it is a useful resource. Try it for yourself.
